Overview
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180–400mm f/4E Lens is ideal for long-range photo capture. Made for both sports and nature photography, the lens can be attached to Nikon F mount FX format and 35mm film cameras. The optical construction of the lens comprises 27 elements in 19 groups, which include 8 Extra-low Dispersion elements and a single fluorite element to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing. Additionally, both nano-crystal and super integrated coatings are applied to each element to suppress ghosting and lens flare. You can extend the focal range to 252–560mm by enabling the built-in 1.4× teleconverter. The silent wave motor remains quiet while automatically focusing the lens down to a minimum distance of 2 m. You can keep the VR image stabilization in normal mode or switch to the sports mode. The electromagnetic diaphragm has 9 blades that offer a rounded bokeh. This lens has a dust- and moisture-resistant magnesium alloy barrel.
