The Nikon D600 DSLR Camera is designed for professional photographers and enthusiasts. This full-frame FX-format camera can be used with Nikon F-mount lenses. It has a 24.3 MP FX-format CMOS sensor that teams up with the Expeed 3 image processor to produce stunning imaging results in low light conditions. The camera offers Full HD video recording at 30 fps and can take burst shots at 5.5 fps. The camera's AF system includes 39 focus points with 9 cross-type sensors and 7 center focus points. You can use the 3.2-inch LCD screen to compose the scene. An optional mobile adapter is required for using the camera's Wi-Fi capabilities for media transfer and remote camera trigger.

Optics and Focus

The camera uses the intelligent Scene Recognition System with 3D Color Matrix Metering II to deliver high-quality images and videos. In the 39-point AF system, there are 9 cross-type sensors and 7 center focus points. The camera offers accurate subject tracking when recording HD videos by using the contrast-detection AF system. You can use the electronic shutter when taking shots of the subject in the frame with complete silence. The shutter speed has a maximum limit of 1/8000 of a second.

Sensor and Screen

The camera's imaging abilities are powered by a 24.3 MP FX-format CMOS sensor. It provides high color sensitivity to produce vibrant images. The 3.2-inch rear LCD makes you compose and monitor live video recording in 921K-dot resolution. You can also playback captured media and adjust various camera settings. The pentaprism viewfinder provides a 0.70× magnification and adjustable diopter of -3 to +1 m. Both the LCD and viewfinder give 100% screen coverage.

Image and Video

The camera captures 14-Bit pictures with a maximum resolution of 6016×4016 dpi in JPEG, RAW, and TIFF format. You can record 1080p Full HD videos at a frame rate of 30 fps or HD videos at 60 fps. The Expeed 3 image processor enhances the camera performance when working in low-light. It also contributes to the continuous shooting mode of 5.5 fps. There are various white balance modes in the camera that allow you to set the mood for the shot.

Other Features

The hot shoe contact can be used for mounting a Speedlight flash. Once the flash is mounted, you can assign one of the 6 flash sync modes to it. The flash can be manually synchronized with the shutter at 1/200th of a second. Set self-timer to trigger shutter release at 2, 5, 10, and 20 seconds. You have to use the optional WU-1b wireless mobile adapter to make full use of Nikon D600's Wi-Fi abilities. It allows you to transfer images to smartphones as well as remotely trigger the camera from the smartphone. Record audio by connecting a mic to the 1/8-inch audio-in port and monitor the sound live with the 1/8-inch headphone port. This camera runs on an EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion battery.
