Can a Nikon D600 or D800 use Pentacon Six manual lenses via an F-mount adapter?

I’m considering a Nikon D600 or D800 and already own several old manual lenses, mostly in Pentacon Six/Kiev 60 mount. I’ve used them on a Nikon D3200 with Pentacon-to-Nikon adapters and in full manual mode.
I found a compatibility chart saying pre-AI Nikkor lenses should not be mounted on the D600/D800, even though they can mount on a D3200. Does that mean adapted Pentacon Six lenses are effectively treated like pre-AI lenses and therefore would be unsafe or unusable on a D600 or D800?

Short answer to your question is: no.
Long answer to your question is: The chart from Ken Rockwell is specific to Nikkor lenses, not lenses with appropriate adapters for modern F-mount cameras. Given that Nikon is a significant brand, there are quite a few adapters from various lens mounts to the modern F-mount, including the Pentacon Six, as you discovered. The Fotodiox adapter should be fine. For further details on options with other lens, including other medium format lenses, see this guide: Master Guide to Rigging a Nikon D800 or D800E which includes some information to reassure you that you're good to go.

No. A Pentacon Six lens used with a proper Pentacon Six–to–Nikon F adapter is not the same thing as mounting a pre-AI Nikkor directly on the camera.
The pre-AI warning for cameras like the D600/D800 applies specifically to older Nikon F-mount lenses whose aperture coupling can interfere with the camera’s AI indexing parts. That issue is about certain native Nikkor lenses, not adapted lenses from other mounts using a correctly designed adapter.
So if your Pentacon Six/Kiev 60 lenses work on Nikon F bodies via a suitable adapter, they should also be usable on a D600 or D800 in manual operation, just as adapted manual lenses normally are. As always, the key is using the correct adapter for modern Nikon F mount.
