The Canon EF 28mm f2.8 IS USM Lens offers a wide view of the scene and fast autofocus operation. This lens can be mounted to both 35mm and full-frame digital Canon EF cameras. There are 9 optical elements in 7 groups, which include aspherical elements to reduce distortions as well as provide clarity. The lens coating on the elements minimizes ghosting and flare. The ultrasonic motor AF system can quickly focus on an object as close as 9 inches without creating any noise. With the optical image stabilization incorporated, the lens reduces the effects of camera shakes when shooting handheld. The 7-blade diaphragm is rounded to create a pleasing bokeh. The lens accepts a 58mm circular filter on its front thread.
