Intuitive in design and loaded with features, the Canon EOS 80D Body Only offers you the best of both worlds. It features a 24.2 MP (APS-C) CMOS sensor, which works in tandem with the DIGIC 6 image processor for shooting high-resolution pictures and Full HD videos with remarkable clarity and less noise. Use the Dual-Pixel CMOS and 45-point All Cross-type autofocus systems for focusing on your subjects with brilliant precision, even in low-light scenarios. Further ensuring a more accurate focus, along with true skin tones, is the camera’s 7560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. Moreover, the built-in NFC and WiFi connectivity make it possible to transfer data to numerous devices.

Optics and Focus

The Canon EOS 80D is compatible with a wide range of EF and EF-S lenses that offer impressive focal lengths and apertures. The Dual-Pixel CMOS and 45-point All Cross-type autofocus systems enable you to focus on your subjects with incredible sharpness and precision, even in the dark. The autofocus is further enhanced by the 7560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor, which ensures accurate skin tones, every time. Adjust the ISO between 100 and 25,600 in the extended mode. The shutter, which is designed to last for up to 100,000 exposures, operates at a maximum speed of 1/8,000th of a second. Also, the Exposure, White Balance, and Metering modes come in handy for various photography situations.

Sensor and Screen

This Canon camera is equipped with a 24.2 MP (APS-C) CMOS sensor, which enables you to shoot high-resolution stills and Full HD footage with minimal noise and impressive clarity. The 3-inch Clear View Vari-angle LCD touchscreen, which offers a 170° diagonal viewing angle and a 1,040,000-dot resolution, can be tilted vertically and horizontally at angles of 270° and 175°, respectively. The 22 mm pentaprism viewfinder, which offers a magnification of 0.95x, ensures compositional accuracy while shooting at eye level. Both the viewfinder and LCD screen offer a coverage rating of 100%.

Image and Video

Apart from shooting high-quality JPEG and RAW stills at a resolution of up to 6000x3368 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, the EOS 80D records 1080p Full HD videos at 60 fps in the MP4 format. You can perform high-speed continuous shooting at a burst rate of up to 7 fps. The DIGIC 6 image processor can render imagery at a rapid speed without compromising on quality. The Time-Lapse Movie function makes the camera take pictures at set intervals and joins them in order to create a silent movie. The anti-flicker detection system compensates for flickering light sources by capturing shots strictly at peak light volume.

Other Features

The EOS 80D from Canon comes with inbuilt WiFi and NFC connectivity that give you the liberty to transfer data to a wide range of similarly compatible gadgets. With the WiFi, you can also control the camera remotely from a tablet or smartphone, through the proprietary Camera Connect app that needs to be downloaded. The numerous Creative Filter options allow you to unleash your creativity on your pictures. Powering this camera is an LP-E6N battery pack.
