Overview

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 Lens is a prime wide-angle lens, designed for FX-format Nikon Z-Series cameras, & features a maximum aperture of f/1.8, which enables the ability to work in difficult lighting conditions, & offers increased control over your depth of field while shooting. This lens enables a wide range of subjects to shoot, including architecture, landscape, & story broadcast.

The NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 S's optical design features one extra-low dispersion element, & four aspherical elements, to reduce color fringing, chromatic aberrations, spherical aberrations, & distortion for increased clarity, color rendering, sharpness, & overall accuracy in rendering. A Nano Crystal Coat, as well as a Super Integrated Coating, are included to lens elements to minimize internal & surface reflections, which reduces flare & ghosting in your images.

The lens features a multi-focus system, which incorporates two different AF drive units that are synchronized, to deliver a fast & accurate autofocusing performance. The system also uses stepping motors, which provides a remarkably smooth & quiet performance as well. All of these features make the lens suitable for both stills & video applications. Full-time manual focus override is supported, & an internal focusing design is featured to maintain the overall length of the lens during use, which also provides faster focusing speeds.

The NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 S features a programmable control ring, which is set to adjust manual focus while in it's default state, but can be set to control aperture or exposure compensation when programmed. An electromagnetic aperture mechanism is featured to provide greater stability regarding exposure control, which is beneficial when working with faster continuous shooting rates.

The lens barrel's physical design is dust & moisture-resistant, which is helpful for shooting in inclement weather conditions.
