The Lomography Petzval 58mm f/1.9 Lens simulates the picture quality of the first Petzval lens from 1840. This lens is made to work with Nikon F-mount 35mm film and DSLR cameras. The lens includes 4 Russian glass elements arranged in 3 groups to deliver sharp images and accurate colors. This lens construction offers a strong field curvature, shallow depth of field and vignetting at the edge of the frame creating the classic picture quality provided by its predecessors. You can take clear photographs of objects from a minimum distance of 2 feet with the manual geared rack focus control. A bokeh control ring is provided at the top that lets you decide the bokeh intensity in the image within a 1 to 7 level range. The aperture can be adjusted via 7 waterhouse stops that range from f/1.9 to f/16. This lens has its outer body made of brass, which reminiscences the look of the first Petzval lens.
