OVERVIEW
The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens (For Sony E-Mount) is an ultra-wide angle zoom lens, designed exclusively for Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras, and features a 17-28mm focal length, as well as a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The lens is designed to be extremely portable, while still achieving remarkable image quality. The 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens is designed with advanced features that are made specifically for mirrorless cameras. Its RXD motor (Rapid eXtra-Silent Stepping Drive) helps you stay focused on the action of what you are shooting. Also featured, is a sensor that is used to detect the position of the lens, which provided you with fast, precise autofocusing. The AF system is made for subjects that are continuously moving, or for recording video. Its smooth and quiet design allows you to shoot video without having to worry about ambient drive noise.
As the smallest and lightest lens in its class, the 17-28mm f/2.8 will add a new perspective to your landscapes, cityscapes, mountains, & scenic shots. Both an LD, and XLD element are added to thoroughly suppress chromatic aberration, allowing for excellent, high-level optical performance. Its minimum focusing distance of 7.5" (0.19 m) allows you to get up close for a powerful shot, while also providing options for creating soft expressions around your subject. The lens' physical design includes a fluorine coating, as well as a moisture-resistant construction.
When Combined With Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD (SOLD SEPARATELY):
When combined, the two high-performance lenses are able to cover an extremely broad range from 17mm ultra wide-angle to 75mm medium telephoto, while still maintaining excellent speed and an f/2.8 aperture. Both lenses have a filter diameter of 67mm, making filters and other accessories compatible with both lenses. This duo makes the most of the capability of mirrorless cameras.
