Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone

OVERVIEW

The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone is made for videographers, & film enthusiasts, who want to upgrade the quality, of audio, in their video-productions. The MKE 600 Shotgun Micrphone is a great step forward, from using your camera's built-in microphone, to improve the quality of your audio-capture.

The MKE 600 Microphone is able to capture high-quality sound, due to its design, which features an interference tube, & supercardioid/lobar polar-pattern, to pick up on distant sound-sources, while reducing the volume of closer sounds, that are entering at the sides, & rear of the microphone.

In order to prevent an unnatural bass-buildup, the MKE 600 is designed to, naturally, reduce sub-bass frequencies, that are below 40 Hz. In order to "roll off" other low-frequency noise (Ex: Air Conditioners, Traffic, etc.), you can activate the, switchable, low-cut filter (At 100 Hz). This Bass Roll-Off feature, allows the quality of your sound to be clear, & to not be muffled, or drowned-out, by background noise.

In order to minimize unwanted noise, during outdoor filming, the MKE 600 includes a foam wind-screen, to reduce the chances, of the microphone, picking up breezes. The wind-screen is also helpful, when filming indoors, near fans, heaters, & air-conditioners, by up to 25 dB.

The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone features a 3-pin XLR output, & is compatible with 48 VDC Phantom-Powering, which provides the option of keeping your microphone powered up, via separately available devices, that offer phantom power. Generally, many camcorders & cinema cameras, feature built-in preamps that offer phantom power, while a number of handheld audio-recorders, mixer-adapters, & field recorders can do the same. In order to power the MKE 600 Microphone, without access to phantom-powering, a single AA battery (sold separately), provides up to 150 hours of use. The microphone's Battery-Status Indicator, is designed to light up, in red, to warn you that you have, approximately, 8 hours of operating time left.

In order to provide easy-placement, of the MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone, onto a camera, or tripod, a Shoe Shockmount is included.
