The Nikon NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens has returned, with an updated & speedy design, & was made specially for the FX-format Z-series of mirrorless cameras. Its advanced optical design, along with its exceptionally bright f/0.95 maximum aperture, allows the NIKKOR Z 58mm S Noct Lens to excel during low-light shooting, with extreme control over depth of field, for isolating your subject. When used with DX models, the NIKKOR Z 58mm S Noct Lens provides an 87mm equivalent focal length.
The NIKKOR Z 58mm S Noct Lens, like its predecessor, has a manual focus design, designed to provide fine-tuned control, making it suitable for both photo & video applications. This feature permits working with subjects, as close as 1.6 ft. away, while its included OLED information-panel displays the current focusing distance, in order to help recognize hyperfocal distances & lens settings, in a fast & easy manner.
A programmable Control Ring is set, by default, to adjust your aperture settings, but can also be set to control exposure compensation settings, for easier access. The NIKKOR Z 58mm S Noct Lens features an assignable L.Fn button, which works with camera-based Function buttons, to quickly adjust your exposure, & other functions.
The exceptionally fast f/0.95 maximum aperture is able to achieve a remarkably shallow depth of field, for the use of dramatic, selective focusing techniques, & benefits working in extreme low-light conditions. A specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism is featured, to provide greater stability over exposure control, which is beneficial during the use of faster continuous shooting rates. The lens's 11-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing "bokeh" effect, during the use of selective focusing techniques, to really emphasize a separation between your background & your subject.
The NIKKOR Z 58mm S Noct Lens features an optical design, that includes a large-diameter ground aspherical element, to reduce spherical aberrations & distortion, allowing it to achieve high sharpness, & accurate overall rendering. Four extra-low dispersion elements, along with three aspherical elements, are included in the lens' design, to greatly reduce color fringing, chromatic aberrations, spherical aberrations, & distortion, while achieving greater clarity, color rendering, sharpness, & overall rendering in your images. In addition to the featured elements, the optical design has been optimized, for shooting with wider apertures, while producing even sharpness across the frame.
