The Olympus TG-860 - Orange digital camera is made for simple point-and-shoot photography. Designed keeping adventurers in mind, the camera sports a durable shock-, crush-, and waterproof body. This camera is designed with a 16 MP CMOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor. Its lens design involves 10 optical elements in 8 groups and an HR prism. The camera lens provides a wide focal length of 21mm and lets you zoom in on the frame by up to 5×. This camera comes with dual image stabilization to reduce camera shakes. Its Sportscam mode lets you shoot videos in Full HD at 60p. The camera has a customizable front face button and a 180° rotating LCD screen.
Optics and Focus
The Olympus TG-860’s lens is made with 10 elements arranged in 8 groups, and includes an HR prism. The camera is designed with the Dual Image Stabilization system that uses lens-shift image stabilization with a high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds for detailed photography in low-light conditions. Also, you may use the OI image stabilization to reduce camera shakes while shooting handheld. Further, for minimizing camera shakes while shooting videos, the camera uses a hybrid 5-axis stabilization system with capabilities of both lens-shift and digital-stabilization systems. The super macro mode lets you quickly close up on small objects.
Sensor and Screen
This Olympus camera is equipped with a 16 MP CMOS sensor that captures clear images and ensures quick focusing even in dimly-lit environments. With the TruePic VII image processor, it can render accurately colored images with less noise. The 3-inch LCD that can tilt at 180° makes it easy for you to shoot from low angles. It also helps when you are taking selfies using the front face button.
Image and Video
This camera from Olympus captures images at a maximum resolution of 4608×3456 dpi. A special Sportscam mode lets you record Full HD videos at 60p. The interval shooting mode captures all the action in a photo sequence, while the panorama mode is ideal for vast landscapes in a single frame. This camera also offers the option of shooting time-lapse videos. Additionally, there are different art filters and picture modes that can be used for effects in the time-lapse movies. In the iAuto mode, the camera automatically identifies the scene and adjusts the setting according to the subject and lighting.
Other Features
A customizable button is provided at the front of the camera for different actions, apart from selfies, such as video start/stop, brightness increase, autofocus illumination, and super macro mode activation. The Olympus TG-860 camera has a built-in flash with three modes. The flash also functions as an LED light when shooting videos. With the self-timer mode on, the camera delays the shutter release between 2 and 12 seconds. The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to share the recorded media to any other device. This camera can be used 50 ft underwater and has the IPX8 rating for its waterproofness. Similarly, it can withstand falls from a height of up to 7 ft and impacts of 220 lbf, thanks to its double-layered construction.
