Overview
The Panasonic AU-EVA1 Cinema Camera gives a professional edge to your project whether it is a documentary, film, or a live event recording. This camera accepts all EF-mount lenses. The Super 35 image sensor offers 4K oversampling to sharpen image quality by reducing aliasing and increasing color fidelity. You get a wide color gamut to work on during post-production thanks to the V-Log and V-Gamut capture. The camera employs the electronic image stabilization to reduce camera shakes when shooting without a tripod. The camera has built-in motorized ND filters for lowering exposure by 2, 4 or 6 stops. There are various monitoring tools in the camera such as Waveform and Zebras as well as Focus Squares You can attach shotgun microphones to the dual balanced XLR audio inputs.
Optics and Focus
The camera accepts EF mount lenses. You can use the integrated ND filters to reduce the exposure by 2, 4, or 6 stops. These filters prevent over-exposure when working in bright lighting to ensure the captured video looks vibrant and clear. The camera has a Dual native ISO with exposure ranges namely base 800 ad base 2500. You can increase the shutter speed up to 1/8000th of a second. The camera utilizes Focus Squares, in which an array of green squares are displayed on the LCD to assist in focus operation. With the electronic image stabilization, the camera can be used for reducing camera shakes when applying handheld shooting techniques.
Sensor and Screen
The camera works on a Super 35 sensor that makes it capable of recording 4K quality videos. It reduces aliasing and boosts color fidelity. You can access different camera functions with the LCD screen. Its touchscreen design makes it easy for you to navigate through various camera menus. This 3.5-inch LCD offers a 1150K dot resolution live view of the scene. You can adjust the LCD as per your need to facilitate shooting from different angles.
Image and Video
The camera records videos with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling that spans across various HD modes including 4K. You can shoot videos with high frames rates such as 60 fps for 4K, 120 fps for 2K and full HD, and stunning 240 fps for HD videos. These video modes allow you to add various slow or fast motion effects during post-production without any blur in movement.
Other Features
This cinema camera has dual balanced XLR audio inputs to attach various audio-capture equipment such as a shotgun and lavalier microphone. The V-Log and V-Gamut capture offer flexibility to employ HDR and SDR production techniques. With the dual SD card slots, you can use one slot as a primary recording medium and other for back-up. Both HDMI and SDI output ports are capable of transmitting 4K and HD signals, which you can use send video transmissions to a viewfinder or third-party monitors. The included AG-VBR59 battery offers a working time of approximately 90 minutes.
