A super spectra coating is applied to each element to bring the effects ghosting and flare down. The STM stepping motor remains silent when autofocusing on an object. Moreover, the macro lens construction lets you come close to objects down to 6.7 inches. The optical image stabilizer reduces 5 stops of camera shake when using a handheld technique. With the configurable control dial, you can alter the exposure compensation, ISO, and aperture. The rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates smooth bokeh in the out-of-focus background.
