Overview

The Canon EOS M100 Mirrorless Digital Camera is easy to use and produces vibrant picture quality with its companion, the Canon 15–45mm zoom lens. The camera also accepts other Canon EF-M lenses. The 24.2 MP APS-C size CMOS sensor and DIGIC 7 image processor work together to produce images of amazing clarity and high color accuracy in any lighting condition. The ISO sensitivity of the camera ranges from 100–25600 and the shutter speed can be increased to 1/4000th of a second. The exposure mode can be set to aperture, shutter, manual, or program mode. Working in dim light is also made convenient by the built-in flash that has a guide number of 16.4 ft at ISO 100. The camera runs on an LP-E12 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Optics and Focus

The Canon 15–45mm zoom lens comes along with the M100 mirrorless camera. It has an aperture range of f/3.5–6.3 and offers a viewing angle of 84° 30'–33° 40'. The lens design comprises 10 optical elements in 9 groups. Three aspherical elements are included in the lens construction to ensure image sharpness and clarity throughout the zoom range. An STM stepping motor handles the autofocusing performance, facilitating a quiet and quick operation. The optical image stabilizer ensures there is no shaky footage up to 3.5 stops when shooting handheld. In addition to the lens focus, the camera comes with a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system that is akin to the focus offered by a camcorder. The Canon 55-200mm is a lightweight, compact, telephoto zoom lens. This EF lens has a 5-group optical zoom system and STM focusing technology. With one aspheric and one UD lens element, this lens is able to reduce optical aberrations. The Canon 55-200mm lens has a focal length of 200mm (35mm equivalent: 320mm).

Sensor and Screen

The 24.2 MP APS-C CMOS sensor of the Canon EOS M100 Mirrorless camera can produce crystal clear images with the help of a maximum ISO of 25600.
