Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Nikon Z)

OVERVIEW

The Sigma 16mm 1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a high performance prime with a large aperture of F1.4 designed for APS-C Mirrorless cameras including Sony E mount and Micro Four Thirds. The Contemporary line is part of Sigma Global Vision and is the perfect blend of image quality and compact size. The large aperture is great for lowlight and for creating depth of field and its small size makes it highly portable.

The optical design and stepping motor deliver smooth autofocus during video shooting. The lens design fully accommodates the Fast Hybrid AF of Sony E-mount cameras for super-fast autofocus functionality. Using face recognition AF results in consistent autofocusing on faces, even as the subjects move.

Like all SGV lenses, each lens is hand crafted in our single factory in Aizu Japan, individually inspected before shipping.

Fast F1.4 Maximum Aperture

The maximum aperture of F1.4 provides excellent low-light performance, and creates beautiful background blur to separate subjects from the environment.

Dust and Splash Resistant Mount

Rubber sealing at the lens mount helps to keep dust and other foreign bodies from entering the lens or the camera's sensor chamber. 

TSC (Thermally Stable Composite)

Parts made with TSC versus aluminum deform less, further contributing to the high-precision construction of the lens. 

Compatible with In-Camera Abberration Correction

This function performs in-camera corrections of peripheral illuminations, chromatic aberrations, distortion, and more, to further enhance image quality (available on supported cameras only).

Flare and Ghosting Reduction

The optical design of this lens makes it resistant to strong incident light source such as backlighting, and Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating further reduces flare and ghosting. 

High-Precision, Rugged Brass Bayonet Mount

The brass mount combines high precision with rugged construction. Its treated surfaces and enhanced strength contribute to the exceptional durability of the lens.
