The Yashica-Mat 124G Twin Lens Camera is a reliable gadget that every vintage-camera collector should have. It comes with two lenses: a Yashinon 80mm f/3.2 taking lens and a Yashinon 80mm f/3.5 taking lens. The inbuilt leaf shutter operates in the bulb mode or at speeds ranging between 1 second and 1/500th of a second. You can control the aperture and shutter settings at waist level through a small window on top of the taking lens. Also, you can use the waist-level finder as a focusing sportsfinder for a versatile shooting experience.

Optics and Focus

The Yashica Mat 124G comes with two lenses: a Yashinon 80mm f/3.5 taking lens and a Yashinon 80mm f/3.2 taking lens. The inbuilt leaf shutter can be operated at speeds ranging between 1 second and 1/500th of a second or in the bulb mode. The aperture and shutter settings can be effortlessly controlled through a small window on top of the taking lens. The focus can be adjusted manually so as to capture crisp, clear images of both moving and still subjects. The minimum focus distance stands at 1 m. Moreover, the focusing knob allows you to adjust the field depth.

Sensor and Screen

The camera’s waist-level finder features a flip-up magnifier for viewing your subjects with immense clarity. For added versatility while shooting, the waist-level finder can be used as a focusing sportsfinder.

Image and Video

The Mat 124G camera from Yashica uses a 120mm format film, which enables you to take up to 12 frames in the 6×6 cm format before having to change the film roll. To load the film, all you have to do is place the film, close the back, and advance it once.

Other Features

The Mat 124G’s tripod mount features a 1/4-inch bushing, which enables you to mount the camera on tripods with a similar bushing. Lastly, you can synchronize the flash at M for flashbulbs and X for electronic flash.
