Compact 35mm film camera with a normal (50mm-ish) lens

I’m looking for a compact 35mm film camera with a non-wide, normal-angle lens around 50mm equivalent. Aperture priority is preferred, and exposure compensation would be a bonus. The Fuji Klasse S looks close to what I want, but it’s still expensive used. Are there other good alternatives, whether true compacts or small interchangeable-lens film cameras?

If you consider buying a used camera, you could look for a Leica cl/Minolta cle. They have exchangeable lenses and are compatible to the rest of the Leica system (if you can afford the lenses).

Options mentioned in the community are limited, but there are a couple of sensible directions.
If you can accept a small interchangeable-lens rangefinder rather than a fixed-lens compact, the Leica CL and Minolta CLE are worth considering. They’re relatively compact for 35mm film cameras, support interchangeable lenses, and give you access to Leica-compatible lenses. That said, lens cost can become a factor.
If true pocketability is less important and you mainly want a lightweight, inexpensive camera with aperture priority and a normal 50mm lens, a Canon EOS Rebel Ti with a 50mm f/1.8 is a practical choice. It’s very light, inexpensive on the used market, and offers aperture priority or full manual exposure. The tradeoff is that it’s an SLR, so it won’t be genuinely compact or pocketable.
So the best alternative depends on your priority: Leica CL/Minolta CLE for compactness with interchangeable lenses, or an EOS Rebel Ti setup for low cost and flexibility.
