The camera captures images on a 35mm film that has an ISO speed of 25 to 400. This camera also includes additional features such as the built-in flash, focus hold button, and a self-timer. The flash is powered by two AA 1.5V batteries.
Optics and Focus
The Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 film has a prime lens integrated into its design. The lens has a 38mm focal length and an aperture of f/2.8, and is made with four elements arranged in three groups. Thanks to the active infrared autofocus, the camera calculates the distance between the lens and the subject. The built-in buzzer and warning light notify you if the subject is too close or too far. The camera's ISO sensitivity can be increased up to 400 and the shutter to 1/40th of a second.
Sensor and Screen
This Minolta film camera has a CdS-type exposure system that offers an auto-exposure range of EV 6–17. A dedicated warning light and an audible beep notify you of low exposure when shooting in dim lighting. A bright frame type viewfinder with parallax correction marks is provided in the camera for composing scenes. The LED focus zone signals help determine the focus and flash range. Moreover, the autofocus zone marks can be used by pressing down the focus hold button.
Image and Video
The Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 can work with 35mm films that have an ISO sensitivity of 25 to 400. A rapid wind lever is provided to advance the exposed frame.
Other Features
With the self-timer function, you may delay the shutter release of this Minolta camera by up to 10 seconds. The ring around the camera lens allows you to adjust the film speed as per your requirement. A separate switch is provided for the built-in flash. Two fully charged 1.5V alkaline batteries power this camera’s flash.
