The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Digital SLR Camera is ideal for aspiring film makers and professional photographers. It supports all lenses that have the Canon EF bayonet mount. The camera comes with a 30.4 MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 6+ image processor to provide improved low-light performance with minimal grain. The camera features a 61-point high-density reticular AF and dual-pixel CMOS AF system. The maximum native ISO stands at 32000, which can be extended to 102,400. The wide shutter speed ranges from 30 seconds to 1/8000th of a second. This camera has a hot shoe and a PC terminal for its dedicated eTTL flash system. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera offers connectivity options of HDMI C mini, USB 3.0, and 1/8-inch ports for headphone and microphone.

Optics and Focus

This Canon camera’s auto-exposure modes include two that determine the exposure value according to the shutter speed and aperture widening. As for the program AE mode, it adjusts the aperture and shutter speed as per the lighting in the scene. When using long exposures or continuous shooting, the mirror lock-up function prevents image blurring in order to maintain clarity. The 61-point high-density reticular AF system includes up to 41 cross-type points for to-the-point focusing. When shooting a moving object, the dual-pixel CMOS AF system ensures the focus remains fixed on it. Both the electronic and the mechanical shutters can function at a maximum speed of 1/8000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR captures 30.4 MP images with its full-frame CMOS sensor. You may view live footage on the 3.2-inch, 1620k-dot Clear View II touchscreen LCD. Additionally, an anti-reflective coating on the LCD makes it comfortable to view even in bright lighting. The 0.71× pentaprism viewfinder offers a diopter adjustment of -3 to +1 m. Both the LCD and the viewfinder offer 100% screen coverage.

Image and Video

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera produces 6720×4480 dpi images in both JPEG and RAW formats. You may switch to the movie mode to record videos in stunning DCI 4K at 30 fps. In the continuous-shooting mode, the camera can freeze moments to shoot up to 21 RAW images at a rate of 7 fps. With the inclusion of the DIGIC 6+ image processor, the camera generates vibrant and high-contrast images in low light with minimal to no noise. The camera also features the Digital Lens Optimizer technology that eliminates chromatic and spherical anomalies, peripheral brightness, and diffraction in the image.

Other Features

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera is WiFi-enabled with NFC connectivity, and can be paired with smartphones and tablets to share videos and pictures. It has a hot shoe and a PC terminal for fixing an external flash. The mounted flash can be synchronized with the mechanical shutter at 1/200th of a second. The self-timer allows delaying the shutter release by up to 10 seconds. You may even tag your location on an image and synchronize the time with the universal time code with the help of the integrated GPS. This camera run on an 1865mAh LP-E6N rechargeable Li-ion battery.
