OVERVIEW

This Sony KIt includes a Wireless Grip (GP-VPT2BT) and a Shotgun Microphone (ECM-G1). It is ideal for creating content ranging from vlogs and travel videos to everyday use. Its flexible angle tilt function allows for quick switching between normal and self-shooting modes, and it can also be used as a mini tripod. With this setup, you can capture clear, crisp audio anytime and anywhere.

Dust and moisture resistant
In addition to an overall grip design that keeps dust and moisture out, the absence of cables means that the camera’s connector covers can stay closed, for maximum system dust and moisture resistance

Flexible tilt function
A quick tilt function makes it easy to set the ideal camera angle for a wide range of subjects and viewpoints. Whether shooting selfies or a subject, the tilt function lets you get the shot without having to assume uncomfortable postures.

BLUETOOTH® wireless remote commander
With a compatible camera attached, remote controls for still and movie shooting can be operated while holding the grip normally, without having to touch the camera. Any function assigned to the camera’s C1 button can also be recalled via the remote grip C1 button.

Quick, easy direction changes
Quickly and easily position the camera for subject or selfie stills or movies. Improve your chances of getting the shot, even when shooting stills or movies without assistance. Combined with the grip’s easy angle adjustment capability, 90° lock positions also make it possible to shoot in vertical orientation with optimum stability.

No cables required
Bluetooth® wireless communication means that no connecting cables are required to transmit control signals from the grip to the camera. Simply aim and shoot with no cables to get in the way.

Contoured for comfort
The grip has been carefully designed to provide optimum stability and comfort, whether attached to a compact or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Remote control buttons are easily accessible while holding the grip, for smooth, intuitive operation.

The ECM-G1 is well suited to the frequency bands of human voice characteristics, capturing vocal audio clearly and distinctly. It's ideal for shooting vlogs of product reviews and interviews.

Large-diameter, 14.6 mm microphone capsule

A larger capsule for high-quality sound. Built around a large-diameter (14.6 mm) microphone capsule, the ECM-G1 provides a high-quality audio track similar to high-end dedicated audio recorders, with clear, clean sound capture and effective noise suppression.

Wind screen for trouble-free outdoor shooting

The ECM-G1 comes with an easily detachable wind screen that can reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors under windy conditions.

Anti-vibration structure

The vibration-suppressing design of the ECM-G1 helps reduce minor bumps and mechanical noise, such as when focusing or zooming. When connected via Multi Interface (MI) Shoe, the cable-free setup eliminates any possibility of cable-transmitted vibration noise.

Highly directional, compact shotgun design

The highly directional, compact shotgun design of the ECM-G1 has a super-cardioid pickup for front-focused audio capture. This is ideal for isolating audio directly in front of the camera, ideal for vlogging, interviews and reviews.

Compact, unobtrusive design. At 1.34-inch (34mm) in length and 1.2 oz. (34g) in weight, the ECM-G1 is highly portable and ready to bring along to any shoot location. The clever design needs no dangling cables, and it stays out of the way of both the viewfinder and your framed shot even with wide-angle lenses making it ideal for tight vlogging shots.

Small enough to stay in place

Leave your microphone attached and ready to use at a moment's notice. The unit's light weight 1.2 oz. (34 g) provides flexibility and mobility when you're shooting so much so that there's no need to detach and reattach it between shoots. The back of the microphone won't touch your forehead when you're looking through the viewfinder, and setup is easy even with gimbals and grips.

Cable-free confidence

Connecting the microphone via a compatible MI (Multi-Interface) Shoe means you don't have to worry about noise being transmitted mechanically through cable connections or cables getting in the way of your shot, for greater portability when shooting.

Battery-free convenience

When you attach the ECM-G1 to the MI (Multi-Interface) Shoe of any of Sony's compatible cameras, power is supplied directly from the camera to the microphone. This lets you handle extended shooting sessions free of concerns about the microphone battery running out.

A 3.5 mm audio out jack for expanded connectivity options

The ECM-G1 also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and cable for use on compatible recording devices and cameras that don't have a MI Shoe.
