OVERVIEW

The Panasonic GH5S Mirrorless Camera is the latest model in the Lumix G DSLM series. This camera comes with a 10.2 MP high-sensitivity MOS sensor and a Venus Engine processor. The camera can record videos in 4K at 60 fps and 1080p at up to 240 fps. The Lumix GH5s has a continuous shooting rate of 12 fps with AFS. The DFD AF system ensures precise focusing performance even when shooting a moving subject. An OLED viewfinder incorporated into the camera, which offers 3680K-dot resolution view of the scene. The 3.2-inch rear swiveling touchscreen LCD can be used for composition as well as playback. The camera allows you send captured photos to your smartphone the built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.2. Optics and Focus

The Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens system ensures 4K anamorphic professional video production along with durability, mobility, and low light gathering. It accepts over 20 Lumix and Leica lenses. The camera uses the Depth From Defocus technology to determine the distance between the subject and the lens. It calculates the sharpness levels of two different images to calculate the distance to the subject. The camera also offers Dual Native ISO that allows you to use 400 and 2500 as base points to increase the normal ISO range of 51200 and extend it to 204800. Thanks to the high readout speeds, the rolling shutter distortion is reduced by approximately 1.3×.

Sensor and Screen

The camera has a 10.2 MP Digital Live MOS sensor that offers a wide dynamic range. With the 3.2-inch LCD monitor, you can compose the scene or playback recorded media. You can swivel the LCD as per your convenience to shoot from a low or high angle. The LCD adapts RGBW pixel structure to ensure visibility even under the sun. A 3680K-dot OLED viewfinder is integrated into the camera, which gives 0.76× magnification and smooth image display at 120 fps.

Image and Video

The camera can shoot C4K videos at a smooth frame rate of 60 fps. You can give dramatic fast or slow-motion effects with the C4K VFR and 240-fps 1080 full HD recording. Benefitted by the Venus Engine, the Panasonic Lumix GH5s uses its 4K abilities in burst shooting where you can extract 8 MP images from the recorded videos. This mirrorless camera allows you to select the 14-bit RAW file format over the 12-bit, thus offering 64× better color and image gradation. You can use the pre-installed V-LogL for capturing videos with broad dynamic range for color grading. The HDR mode reproduces bright and dark sections of the image, so the result is closer to what the human eye sees.

Other Features

The built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 can be used to transfer images to smartphones. Moreover, you can link the camera to your phone for controlling it wirelessly. The dual SD card slots offer relay recording and simultaneous recording as well as media backup. A magnesium alloy frame is installed on the body, which makes it resistant to impacts.
