Make way for next-level photography with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III Micro 4/3 Camera. It comes with the 14–42mm EZ lens that makes capturing wide-angle shots of vast landscapes a smooth activity. The Dual Quad-Core TruePic VIII image processor is the distinguishing factor between the Mark III and Mark II, which is its close predecessor. The processor and the 16.1 MP Live MOS sensor come together to produce images that cast a spell with their rich clarity and brightness. You can steer clear of camera shakes with the 5-axis image-stabilization system, which ensures your photographs are without any blurs and distortions. Depending on the scene or subject at hand, you may choose from five different shooting-assist modes to make optimum utilization of the camera’s capabilities. In the continuous-shooting mode, the new Mark III can operate at 8.6 fps. Its integrated editing feature allows trimming of videos and extraction of stills from 4K footage. A BLS-50 rechargeable battery on a full charge can power up this camera to make it capture up to 330 shots.
Optics and Focus
While the new Mark III mirrorless camera from Olympus can be used with most micro four thirds lenses, a 14–42mm EZ lens comes along for a complete and satisfying photography experience. The lens is made with eight elements in seven groups and it can capture images from a minimum distance of 20 cm. The diaphragm of the lens consists of five blades that create a pleasant bokeh effect in the defocused areas of the image. Further, the camera itself offers 121 contrast-detection AF points for different subjects and scenes. It also comes with the options of face- and eye-priority AF for better highlighting of the subject. Its mechanical shutter operates at 1/4000th of a second, while the silent electronic shutter functions at 1/16000th of a second. To make things more interesting, this latest Olympus micro four thirds camera has a touch AF shutter function that needs you to only touch the point of focus on the LCD screen and capture it then and there, without having to press down the shutter button.
Sensor and Screen
With the 16.1 MP Live MOS sensor, the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III can shoot videos and photographs that stand out for their clarity and definition. The sensor is maintained as new by the Super Sonic Wave Filter, which further helps in generating clear and high-contrast pictures. A 1.23× OLED electronic viewfinder helps in scene analyzing in a 2.36-million-dot resolution. The screen coverage offered by the viewfinder is 100%. Moreover, the 3-inch LCD screen can be used for adjusting camera settings and shooting from high and low angles. The screen is tiltable 85° upward and 45° downward.
Image and Video
The advanced TruePic VIII image processor in the new Olympus Mark III ensures images are high on brightness and true in color, no matter what the lighting condition. The camera has various Advanced Photography functions like Panorama, Silent, Live Composite, HDR, Live Time, Keystone Compensation, Focus Bracketing, and AE Bracketing. Besides, the 15 art filters, including a new bleach-bypass filter, can transform the appearance of your photographs in no time. While the camera can shoot 4K and 1080p videos at 30p and 60p, respectively, it can also be used for time-lapse shooting in 4K at 5 fps, 1080p at 15 fps, and 720p at 30 fps.

Enabling quick transfer of the captured media to other devices is the WiFi connectivity in the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III camera. You can also directly view the photos and videos on a PC or an HD TV by connecting them to the camera through the respective USB and type-D micro HDMI ports. For remote controlling of the camera and location tagging on the photos, sync the camera with your smartphone. The camera has an inbuilt flash, yet, you may attach an external flash on the provided hot shoe. With a BLS-50 Li-ion battery fully charged, this camera can capture about 330 photos and shoot videos for 140 minutes straight.
