A selection of 15 Scene Modes automatically optimizes camera settings for different subjects and situations, making it easy to capture portraits, landscapes, food, close-ups, night scenes, and more. When you want greater creative control, the camera also provides extensive manual controls and high-speed shooting options.

Fast, Intelligent Autofocus

Autofocus performance inherited from Nikon's professional cameras quickly locks onto subjects and helps keep them in focus, even when they are moving or appear relatively small in the frame. Deep learning-powered subject detection automatically recognizes 10 common subject types, including people, animals, vehicles, and fish. 3D-tracking further helps maintain focus on moving subjects as they travel through the frame.

Capture the Moment

When the action happens quickly, the Z5IIC gives you multiple ways to capture decisive moments. Pre-Release Capture begins recording images before the shutter is fully pressed and continues briefly after release, helping preserve moments that might otherwise be missed. Continuous shooting reaches up to 14 fps with the mechanical shutter or up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter, providing the speed needed for action, wildlife, candid moments, and everyday movement.

Touchscreen Control

With no viewfinder, the Z5IIC offers a streamlined, monitor-based shooting experience centered around its vari-angle touchscreen. Compose naturally from high, low, overhead, or waist-level positions while maintaining a clear view of your subject. The familiar touchscreen interface makes the camera approachable for photographers accustomed to smartphone photography while providing the greater control and image quality of a dedicated interchangeable-lens camera.

Compact and Comfortable

The Z5IIC features a flat-top design that slips easily into a camera bag and a comfortable ergonomic grip designed for extended shooting. Its lightweight magnesium-alloy construction and dust- and moisture-resistant sealing provide added durability for everyday use and changing environments. A front-facing Selfie Mode simplifies the interface when the vari-angle display is flipped forward, automatically activating face and eye tracking while minimizing unnecessary controls.
