The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens, which is a normal-length prime lens, features an especially bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, which is beneficial for working in difficult lighting conditions, as well as during the use of selective focusing techniques. Though the lens is designed for FX-format Nikon F-Mount cameras, it can also be used with DX models, where it provides a 75mm equivalent focal length.
The lens features a Silent Wave Motor AF System, which provides a fast, quiet, & precise autofocusing performance, as well as full-time manual focus override. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm is also included in the lens' design, enabling the ability to produce a pleasing "bokeh" quality, when using selective focusing techniques. A Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to lens elements, in order to minimize surface & internal reflections, while reducing lens flare & ghosting.
