The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K 2 is an upgrade from the previous version, which includes added features like white balance and shutter speed adjustment. You can attach Active Micro Four Thirds mount lenses to this camera. The Ultra HD image sensor provides 4K as well as 1080p video recording at 60 fps. An Integrated TFT-LCD is provided to monitor the video recording in 1920×1200 dpi resolution. The camera can be remotely controlled via an ATEM switcher. Essential control buttons are placed on the LCD screen to ensure easy handling. The integrated microphone offers stereo audio recording. You can also attach external microphones to the XLR inputs. The built-in talkback support allows you to communicate with the rest of the crew via your headset to set-up the camera angles. This camera has two 3/8"-16 mounting points on the bottom, and ten 1/4"-20 mounting points distributed among on the both sides and top.
Optics and Focus
The camera can be used with active MFT mount lenses or attach a B4 adapter to use traditional broadcast lenses. There are control buttons at the bottom side of the LCD to adjust the focus and iris control of the lenses. The focus peaking mode comes to your aid when focusing manually. You can shift to the autofocus operation to get consistency when tracking the subject. The camera has a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000th of a second.
Sensor and Screen
The Blackmagic Design camera's sensor has an effective size of 13.056mm×7.344mm. It offers high-quality videos by recognizing the colors in the scene accurately. This camera has a 10.1-inch LCD screen at the rear, which allows you to monitor the shot in 1920×1200 dpi resolution. The LCD has a wide-viewing angle that makes you see the image on the monitor clearly when panning at extreme angles. A detachable sunshade is also provided with this camera, which can be mounted on top of the LCD for comfortable viewing in bright conditions.
Image and Videos
The camera produces 4K videos at a frame rate of 60 fps. Also, you have the option of Full HD 1080p video recording at 60 fps. An ATEM production switcher can be connected to the camera to adjust the image settings. The DaVinci YRGB color corrector allows you to fine-tune the look of the shot. You can set the white balance to one of the six presets.
Other Features
Remotely control the camera with an optional ATEM switcher. You can either use the built-in stereo microphone to record audio or attach two external mics to the XLR inputs. The built-in talkback allows the person controlling the camera to communicate with the rest of crew. A tally light is located at the front, which indicates whether the camera is rolling or not. The camera uses 11 to 30 VDC power via an external 4-pin XLR power source. You have multiple options to mount the camera as it comes with two 3/8-inch thread holes for tripod and ten 1/4"-20 threaded holes on sides and top for mounting on wall or ceiling. You can give software updates to the camera's firmware via the USB 2.0 port.
