It depends on how you’ll carry and use it. A tripod that folds to 61cm and weighs 1.95kg is not unusually large for a sturdier, higher-quality tripod, but it can feel bulky for walking around a city all day.

A key point: 61cm is the folded leg length only. Once you add a head, the packed length may be closer to 71cm or more, which makes it less convenient for travel and harder to fit in luggage. If you mostly travel by car or don’t need to pack it into a suitcase, that size can be perfectly workable.

In general, larger tripods are often sturdier and better at reducing vibration than very cheap, lightweight models. So the size may be a tradeoff for stability.

If portability matters more than maximum stability, you may want to look at more compact tripod options or even a monopod, which is lighter and easier to carry, though less versatile than a tripod.
