I’m trying to display a histogram on the rear screen while using Live View on a Nikon D7500. I can cycle display modes, but I’m not seeing the histogram. Is there a setting I need to enable for Live View, and is this different from the playback histogram?

Page 187 of the Nikon D7500 User's Manual:
If the Overview (with luminance histogram) or RGB histogram screens are not showing when you cycle through the photo information options, you need to enable them using the Playback display options menu covered on page 219.

Yes — on the D7500, the Live View histogram is separate from the playback histogram.
For playback, press the Info button to cycle through image information screens. If the luminance or RGB histogram screens are missing, enable them in Playback display options in the camera menu.
For Live View, do this:
- Press the Lv button to enter Live View.
- Press the i button near the Lv control.
- Find Exposure preview and set it to ON.
- Then press the Info button repeatedly to cycle the Live View overlays until the histogram appears.
So if you only want a histogram while reviewing photos, use playback display options. If you want it while composing in Live View, make sure Exposure preview is enabled first, then cycle the Info displays.
