How can I make a Canon 70D display each photo automatically after shooting?

On my Canon 70D, the photo I just took does not appear automatically on the rear LCD. I have to press the playback/arrow button every time. Other Canon cameras I’ve used briefly show the shot right after capture. I’m not asking about Live View—just normal image review after taking a picture. Which setting controls this?

Check how the image review time is set on your camera. It sounds like yours has somehow been set to Off. These are the instructions from p.60 of the 70D manual:
If you set Hold, the image will be displayed for the same amount of time you have set for auto power-off.

Turn on or extend the camera’s image review time. On the Canon 70D, if Image Review is set to Off, the photo won’t appear automatically after you take it. Set it to a short time such as 2 sec or 4 sec, or choose Hold if you want it to stay on longer. If you use Hold, the image will remain displayed until the camera’s auto power-off timer expires. This setting is in the camera menu under image review/playback options.
