How do I show a photo preview after shooting on the Sony A7R III?

On Nikon bodies, after taking a photo the image can appear on the rear screen for a few seconds or until you half-press the shutter. On my Sony A7R III, it returns straight to live view instead. Is there a setting to automatically display the image I just captured after each shot?

Yes. On the Sony A7R III, the setting you want is Auto Review. Enable it in the camera menu under Display (listed in the manual as Display/Auto Review).
Auto Review displays the captured image on the screen immediately after you take a shot, similar to the behavior you’re used to on Nikon cameras. If it currently jumps straight back to live view, Auto Review is likely turned off.
Check the available Auto Review options in the menu to choose how long the image stays on screen after capture.
