On a Fujifilm X-T4, I found the Release/Focus Priority setting in the AF/MF menu, but I’d like to switch it quickly without digging through menus each time. Is there a way to assign this setting to a function button, Q menu, or another shortcut?

You appear to want a button that toggles between release and focus priority. As far as I can tell, this is not currently posslble.

What you can do:

  • Add "Release/Focus Priority" to "My Menu". This will make it a little easier to find and change.
  • Set AF-S to Focus Priority and AF-C to Release Priority, or vice versa. The AF mode becomes a proxy for switching release priority.

Note:

  • It appears to also be not possible to add Release/Focus Priority to the Q menu.

It appears the X-T4 does not offer a direct shortcut or function-button toggle for Release/Focus Priority.

Based on the available answers, your practical options are:

  • Add Release/Focus Priority to My Menu so it’s quicker to reach.
  • Use AF-S and AF-C as a workaround: set one mode to Focus Priority and the other to Release Priority, then switch AF mode when needed.
  • It also appears this setting cannot be added to the Q menu.

So if you want one-button toggling like on some Nikon bodies, that does not seem to be supported on the X-T4.
