The Hasselblad H4D-40 DSLR is intended for professional photography. You can fit Hasselblad H system lenses to the camera. The 32.9×43.9mm CCD sensor offers improved clarity and depth of field. Also, the yaw rate sensor technology is incorporated to measure angular velocity. The Absolute Position Lock ensures accurate focus adjustment while preventing shutter lag. As the capture conditions are provided to the processor, the camera allows fine-tuning of the autofocus with respect to the lens and sensor specification. The camera enables tethered operation for deriving maximum output whether shooting on-location or in a studio. You can process RAW photos in the Hasselblad Phocus imaging toolbox as well as Apple or Adobe software. The captured images can be stored on CF cards or directly to a computer hard drive.
Optics and Focus
The camera is compatible with Hasselblad H system cameras such as the 80mm f/2.8 HC lens. With the HVD-90X Viewfinder, you get the center-weighted, center spot, spot metering methods. You can capture photos up to a range of EV 21. The ISO range is adjustable from ISO 100 to 1600. This Hasselblad camera features the True Focus AF system with yaw rate sensor technology to log the camera movement when compositing the image to calculate the exact focusing parameters. You may also manually override the focus setting anytime. The focusing system has a working range of EV1 to 19. With the Digital Lens Correction, the camera automatically eliminates various aberrations and distortions to improve the picture quality.
Sensor and Screen
The built-in CCD sensor produces crystal clear quality with enhanced depth of field. At the rear, the camera sports a 3-inch LCD with 24-bit color depth and a maximum resolution of 230400 pixels. You can enable the histogram to view the color levels of the image.
Image and Video
The camera takes 40 MP images having a maximum resolution of 7304×5478 pixels. All the pictures are recorded in the lossless Hasselblad RAW 3FR format. The natural color solution management system ensures real-life image quality. This Hasselblad camera has a capture rate of 1.1 per second and takes up to 50 pictures in a minute.
Other Features
A hot shoe is located at the top for mounting external flash units. You can connect the camera to an SSD or a PC as per your workflow requirement. The camera can be used for both tethered and un-tethered operations. With professional SD cards, the camera offers a read-write speed of 80 Mbps. The Instant Approval Architecture lets you focus on the image capture rather than photo selection. It records the information in the file as well as file name. The camera can be connected to the system via the FireWire 800 IEEE 1394b port for quick transfer of large images. You can use the camera with both Mac OS and Windows systems.
