Capture a special moment in an instant frame with the Polaroid Spectra Onyx Edition. It is designed to be used with spectra film formats. The camera houses the Quintic lens system that offers a sharp imagery with zero distortion. This instant camera uses the sonar rangefinder for the autofocus operation as well as provides manual focus override. The built-in flash a maximum range of 15 feet. A sound cue is given by the camera when taking pictures. The camera lens has a folding hood design that makes it easy to slip the camera in your bag for transportation.

Optics and Focus

The camera has the Quintic lens system that comprises 3 patented, computer-designed lens elements. It has a focal length of 125mm and variable shutter range of f/10 to f/45. This camera comes with an easy-to-use exposure metering that requires you to set one of the two settings for the camera. The camera employs the sonar AF system for capturing images from a distance of 2 feet to infinity. It sends sound waves at 10000th of a second to the center of the screen to determine the distance between the subject and lens. The camera has a shutter speed range of 1/245th to 2.8th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

This Polaroid camera has a viewfinder with indicators to show whether the image is focused correctly or the subject is within the flash range or not. The viewfinder has an eyecup that offers comfortable viewing and prevents light from entering inside.

Image and Video

The camera is made for spectra system films. You can feed the film to the camera by pushing down the film door release. When you close the film door, the camera will switch on and eject the film cover and set the picture counter to 10. The camera film door opens with three chimes when taking out an empty film.

Other Features

The camera has an integrated flash with an effective range of 2–15 feet. With the programmed flash, the camera blends the flash with the right amount of sunlight to soften the shadows in the image. Thanks to spectra system thyristor flash, you can even use the flash when the batteries are running low. You can use the self-timer to get 12 seconds of delay for the shutter release. A carry case is also provided with the camera.
