The Pentax Spotmatic SP F 35mm SLR Camera produces crisp photographs with a unique look for each. This camera can be used with Pentax 45mm threaded lenses. It has a behind-the-lens exposure meter that can be adjusted to set the shutter and aperture to a level according to the lighting condition. The camera has a focal plane shutter with a maximum speed of 1/1000th of a second. This camera has a pentaprism eye-level viewfinder that also displays the metering needle, shutter speed, and whether or not the battery is functioning. Other important features in this 1960s camera include a self-timer and a hot shoe, among others.
Optics and Focus
The Pentax Spotmatic has a behind-the-lens exposure metering that lets you adjust the aperture and shutter to suit the current lighting condition. The maximum ISO limit of the camera stands at 1600 and the shutter speed, at 1/1000th of a second. This camera can capture images with a multiple-exposure setting too.
Sensor and Screen
The Pentax Spotmatic SP F SLR camera has a pentaprism finder with a Fresnel lens and microprism screen that lets you magnify the subject by 0.88×. In the viewfinder, you can also see the current exposure metering and shutter speed. Needles on the viewfinder indicate whether or not the shutter or film speed falls off the meter. With the reflex mirror, you need not worry about images getting blurred when shooting handheld.
Image and Video
The Pentax Spotmatic SP F camera uses 35mm films to provide 24 or 36 exposures. It has a ratchet-type rapid wind lever with a film off-set angle of 10° and clearance of 160°. With the quick-rewind crank, the camera lets you prepare the frame for the next shot. Also, a film-reminder dial beneath the film-rewind knob has Panchro, Color, and Empty markings. When the shutter is cocked, a red disk is revealed in the small window near the shutter-release button.
Other Features
The Pentax Spotmatic SP F 35mm SLR Camera has both X and FP terminals for connecting an electronic flash and a bulb, respectively. When you attach the electronic flash, it gets synchronized with the shutter at 1/60th of a second. The camera comes with a self-timer too, which can delay the shutter release by up to 13 seconds. This camera can be powered by the 1.35V PX-625 battery.
