The Nikon F2 Photomic SB SLR Camera is made for both professionals and serious amateur photographers. You may mount any Nikon F-mount lens to this camera. Nikon F2 comes with a CdS center-weighted exposure metering that offers a working range of EV1 to EV17 at ASA 100. The shutter speed of the camera can be increased up to 1/2000th of a second. With the bright DP-3 Photomic viewfinder, the camera gives a 100% screen coverage. This camera has an automatic instant-type return mirror with a lock-up function.
Optics and Focus
The Nikon F2 Photomic SB SLR camera has a center-weighted CdS cell exposure metering. It provides a working range of EV 1 to EV 17 with a film speed of ASA 100. The shutter speed can increase speed to 1/2000th of a second for capturing pictures of moving objects. Nikon F2's DP-3 finder gives an ISO range up to 6400.
Sensor and Screen
The DP-3 Photomic finder covers 100% of the screen. It also has a LED light indicator to show whether the exposure is correct or not. The camera has a mirror lock function that reduces image blur occurred during manual exposure adjustment.
Image and Video
The camera can be used with 35mm films that produce 24mm×36mm pictures after the development process. Nikon F2 Photomic SB has a single-stroke film advance lever with a 120° clearance and 20° stand off.
Other Features
You may attach a flash bulb to the camera with the B terminal when taking long exposure shots. The camera synchronizes the electric flash up to 1/80th of a second. Additionally, the camera has a ready light for Nikon speedlights. With the self-additive frame counter, you get to know how many frames are remaining on the film roll. Moreover, the frame counter resets when you open the camera's back. Nikon F2 Photomic SB has a self-timer function that can be used for delaying shutter release up to 10 seconds. You may view the final image, which is based on the current focus and aperture setting, with the depth-of-field preview button. The camera can be mounted on a tripod with the provided socket beneath it. The camera uses two 1.5V silver-oxide batteries to power the DP-3 finder.
