The Canon Powershot SX160 IS Digital Camera is designed keeping casual photography in mind. It has an integrated 28mm wide-angle lens that offers 16× optical zoom. The camera houses a 16 MP CCD sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor to offer high-resolution images and videos along with fast response during focusing. The 3.0-inch LCD can be used for composing shots. The Smart AUTO function adjusts the camera settings for 32 predefined shooting conditions. Use the intelligent image stabilization to reduce camera shakes. The camera runs on 2 AA batteries.

Optics and Focus

The EFL 5.0–80mm lens is built into this Canon digital camera, which provides a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28–448mm. Its aperture is adjusted from f/3.5–5.9 when zooming into the shot. Apart from the 16× optical zoom, the camera also offers an additional 4× digital zoom. The camera offers center-weighted, evaluative, and spot metering methods.
