Optics and Focus
The Mamiya 7II is compatible with a variety of lenses that offer respectable focal lengths and apertures. The dark slide curtain makes it easy to change the camera’s lenses. For a hassle-free shooting experience, the metering function can be controlled manually as well as automatically. Moreover, the shutter speed ranges from 4 seconds to 1/500th of a second, while the ISO film speeds are adjustable between 25 and 1,600. The shutter uses a standard, mechanical cable-release mechanism. The user-selectable multi-exposure option compensates for exposures with a one-touch operation and a new lock-release lever. The high-visibility frame lines in the camera’s focus system ensures the bright frame appears clearly in the rangefinder, even when working under ambient light. Also, the electronically timed leaf shutters comes with an X flash function for syncing at all shutter speeds.
Sensor and Screen
The 7II’s real-image viewfinder lets you view subjects more clearly before taking their photos. Also, the LED readout indicates the shutter speed set in the camera.
Image and Video
The 7II camera from Mamiya is compatible with either a 220 or 120 medium-format film, in order to capture good-quality photographs in the 6×7 cm format. However, the film in the roll needs to be advanced manually after every shot.
This Mamiya camera’s compact, lightweight design makes it convenient to carry it with you wherever you go. The three strap lugs let you carry the camera horizontally or vertically. Use the 1/4-inch socket for mounting the camera on a tripod. Lastly, this camera runs on a 6 V lithium battery.
