Overview

The Sony Alpha a7S is a Mirrorless Digital Camera with a full-frame 12.2 MP Exmor CMOS sensor. It has a BIONZ X image processor that gives you high video and imaging quality. The camera has a gap-less lens design that enables greater light gathering and offers superfine photo quality across the sensor plane. It has an Expansive Dynamic Range and a wide extended ISO range of 409,600. This Sony camera has a superb 25-point contrast-detention AF system that gives you elegant imaging. The camera not only captures top-class still images, but also is capable of shooting videos in 4K resolutions with an optional external recorder over HDMI. It also captures Full HD 1080p videos in XAVC S format at 50 Mbps at multiple frame rates. The S-Log2 gamma gives you greater video recording capabilities by expanding the effective dynamic range during recording. The 3 inch 921.6K-dot tilting LCD and 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides magnificent and super sharp monitoring and reviewing capabilities.

Optics and Focus

The Sony Alpha a7S has an E-Mount Full Frame lens mount. Along with these lenses, you can also use an A series lens with optional adapters. You get a wide range of Carl Zeiss and G series lenses to use with the camera. The sensor has extra large pixels that collect more light than regular sensors and produce images with magnificent details and extremely high quality. This sensor is optimized to produce 4K and Full HD videos. The Direct Pixel Readout technology enables usage of the entire width of the full frame sensor without binning or skipping pixels. This Sony camera has a 3 inch tilting LCD screen with high resolution of 921.6K dots. You also get a 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. While the viewfinder helps you accurately compose your shots, the display lets you review them.

The WiFi system enables you to send your work directly to your computer or cloud storage. Using WiFi, you can even remotely control the camera functions. The integrated HDMI terminal helps you connect the a7S to your television, laptop, or computer.
