Condition: Excellent
The Pentax K1000 is a simple point-and-shoot SLR camera that is ideal for portrait and wide-angle photography. It comes with a 50mm f/2 lens attached, but can also be used with other Pentax K-mount lenses. This camera has a CdS cell TTL open aperture exposure metering and a rubberized silk focal plane shutter that operates at a maximum speed of 1/1000th of a second. With the pentaprism viewfinder, you can magnify the image by 0.88×. The viewfinder also has over-and under-exposure markings on the right side. You may mount an electronic flash on the camera with the help of the hot shoe.
Optics and Focus
The Pentax K1000 comes with the Pentax-M 50 mm f/2 SMC lens, which is ideal for taking close-up and long shots. Each lens element has a super multi-coating to minimize reflections and ensure image sharpness throughout the focus range. This camera has a CdS cell TTL exposure metering that offers a working range of EV 3 to 18. You may manually adjust the exposure in the range of 20 to 3200. The shutter speed of the camera can be increased to 1/1000th of a second.
Sensor and Screen
A pentaprism viewfinder with a split image microprism focusing screen is provided at the center top of this Pentax camera. The viewfinder offers 0.88× magnification with the help of the 50mm standard lens. The viewfinder also shows high or low exposure marking to help you in manually metering the exposure. Also, a -1 m diopter is fitted to the eyepiece.
Image and Video
The Pentax K1000 SLR camera uses a 35mm film. A single-stroke rapid wind lever is provided to advance the film. It has a 160° throw and 10° stand-off angle. There is an indicator alongside the shutter-release button to show whether the film is cocked or not.
Other Features
The Pentax K1000 camera has a hot shoe with X-synchronization for connecting electronic flash devices. After the flash is attached to the camera, it synchronizes with the shutter at 1/60th of a second. The camera has a self-additive frame counter that shows a number of exposed frames. It resets automatically when the camera back is opened. This SLR camera’s light meter requires a single 1.5V silver oxide or alkaline battery.
