The Fuji X-E2 is a mirrorless digital camera offers HD photo and video capture along with the ability of wireless file transfer. This camera has an XF 18–55mm f/2.8–4 R LM OIS lens provided with it. You can also use other X-series compatible lenses with this camera. The camera works on a 16.3 MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II. It provides full HD video recording at 60 fps and continuous shots at 7 fps. The intelligent hybrid AF system is a combination of contrast and phase detection. The built-in film simulation mode and advance filters let you give a unique look to your images. With the fully-charged NP-W126 battery, the camera can take up to 350 frames.

Optics and Focus

You can use this camera with Fujifilm X mount lenses. The included XF 18-55mm lens has 14 optical elements in 10 groups, which includes 3 aspherical and a single Extra-low Dispersion element to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations. Its 7-blade diaphragm smoothen the bokeh quality. The optical image stabilizer lowers camera shakes. You can expand the exposure range up to 25600. Both mechanical and electronic shutter is included in the camera, which shares a maximum speed limit of 1/4000th of a second. The intelligent hybrid autofocus system, which works with the lens' linear motor AF, employs both phase- and contrast-detection to provide a fast AF response in 0.08 seconds. Digital split image technology and focus highlight peaking is used for enabling objective focusing in manual mode.

Sensor and Screen

The APS-C-size X-Trans II CMOS Sensor reduces moiré and aliasing to improve image quality. This camera has a 3.0-inch LCD and a 0.5-inch OLED viewfinder that offer a respective resolution of 1040k and 2360k in live view. You get a 100% screen coverage with both optical viewfinder and LCD. The viewfinder eyepiece diopter is adjustable between -4 to +2 m.

Image and Video

This Fuji camera captures 16.3 MP photos in JPEG or RAW format with a maximum resolution of 4896×3264 dpi. The camera records 1080p videos at of 60 fps and takes continuous shots at 7 fps thanks to the EXR Processor II. The processor also improves the low light performance of the camera. It also offers the shutter lag and start-up time of 0.05 and 0.5 seconds respectively. The film simulation mode allows you to give the unique look of Fujifilm's classic film types such as Velvia, Provia, and Astia to your images. This camera also includes Pro Neg. Std and 4 contrast filters.

Other Features

The built-in WiFi can be used to send images to smartphones via Fujifilm Camera App. With the app, you can manage and transfer HD videos and up to 30 photos at a time. You can use the built-in flash or attach an external flash on the hot shoe for shooting in dim light. The Fujifilm X-E2 comes with an in-camera RAW converter that makes easy to process the captured photos before editing them on your PC. The camera has a self-timer that can delay the shutter release from 2 to 10 seconds. This camera can take up to 350 still shots with a fully-charged NP-W126 Li-ion battery pack.
