The Yashica T4 Super is a point-and-shoot camera with weather-proof design and high-quality Carl Zeiss T* Tessar 35mm/3.5 lens. It comes with an autoexposure mode called Programmed AE that makes adjustments in both aperture and shutter speed according to the lighting condition. The external metering system works on two SPD elements and offers automatic backlight compensation. You can use the focus lock mechanism to take advantage of the infrared active multi-autofocus system for capturing portrait shots with blurred background. The Super Scope viewfinder is located on the top for composing the shot from waist level. This Yashica camera also has an automatic film loading, winding, and rewinding mechanism. The camera runs on a single 3V lithium battery.

Optics and Focus

The integrated Carl Zeiss Tessar 35mm/3.5 lens has an optical construction of 4 elements arranged in 3 groups. These elements have a T* anti-reflection coating to ensure image saturation is bright lighting. The Programmed AE mode senses the lighting condition in the scene and adjusts both shutter speed and aperture opening to provide appropriate exposure. Use the infrared active multi-focus system to click clear shots from a minimum distance of 0.35 m. To enable the focus lock, depress the shutter release button half-way down, then compose the scene as per your need and depress the shutter release button full-way down.

Sensor and Screen

The camera has the Super Scope waist-level viewfinder. There is a focusing frame, picture area frame, and a close-range picture frame in the viewfinder. The focusing indicator is shown by green LEDs and camera shake warning is given by red LEDs. This camera also has a display panel that shows exposure counter, remaining time for the self-timer, picture-taking mode marks, and battery warning mark.

Image and Video

The Yashica T4 Super uses 35mm film rolls to take pictures. This camera offers automatic film loading and sets DX-coded films at ISO 50–3200. The camera gives a film speed range of ISO 100 for non-DX films and DX films outside the speed range of ISO 50–3200. You can enjoy the image capture moment without any film winding hassle as the camera automatically advances the film after each shot. When the film reaches the end, it gets automatically rewound.

Other Features

The built-in flash offers well-illuminated photos in dim light. It has an effective range of 0.35 m to 3 m for ISO 100 film speed and 0.35 m to 6 m for ISO 400. With the self-timer, you can set the shutter release delay to 10 seconds. On a fully-charged 3V lithium battery, the camera can take pictures for up to 20 rolls with 24 in each. The weatherproof construction of the camera protects it from water splashes and dust.
