Condition: Excellent
The Panasonic GX8 Mirrorless Camera with 12–60mm f/3.5–5.6 lens produces high-quality images and videos with vibrant and accurate colors. This camera is meant to be used with micro four thirds bayonet-mount lenses. It has a 20 MP digital live MOS sensor that provides a maximum ISO of 25600. The camera can record QFHD 4K videos in 3840×2160 resolution at 30p. The Depth-from-Defocus (DFD) AF technology helps in getting the subject into precise focus by calculating the distance between the camera and the subject. The dual image stabilization prevents images from getting blurred when they’re being shot handheld. When you switch on the silent mode, the sounds created by the camera’s internal mechanism are reduced significantly. Other important features in the camera include customizable program functions, a tiltable OLED viewfinder, and WiFi.
Optics and Focus
The GX8 camera comes with a Panasonic LUMIX G Vario 12–60mm f/3.5–5.6 ASPH lens that is made with 11 elements in 9 groups. The optical construction includes three aspherical and one extra-low dispersion element to eliminate chromatic and spherical inconsistencies. The lens has an autofocus system that allows shooting images from as close as 0.2 m to the subject. With the circular seven-blade diaphragm, the lens lends a smooth bokeh to the background in images. This camera uses the DFD technology to determine the distance between the subject and the lens for accurate focusing. This contrast-detection AF system offers consistency in the focusing performance, whether shooting videos or photos. A dual image stabilization system is integrated into the camera. This system is a combination of 5-axis hybrid image stabilization technology and optical image stabilization. The dual image stabilization and the Lumix G Vario lens' Power IS come together for minimizing camera shakes when shooting with a high focal length. Thanks to the maximum shutter speed of 1/16000th of a second, the camera can capture images of fast-moving objects with stunning clarity.
Sensor and Screen
The Panasonic Lumix GX8 camera has a 20 MP live MOS sensor that offers vibrant image quality in both bright and low-light conditions. Also, the sensor’s low-pass filter improves image sharpness and resolution by about 15%. The camera has a 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen that can be tilted as per your need. Moreover, the camera is fitted with a tilting OLED viewfinder that offers a 0.77× magnification and diopter adjustment from -4 to +3 m. The touchscreen as well as the OLED viewfinder offer 100% screen coverage.
Image and Video
This Panasonic camera can record QFHD 4K videos at 30p and 1080p full HD videos at a smooth frame rate of 60p. This camera can click up to eight images with 4K details in the burst shooting mode. Also, it includes various photo modes that can be used for giving each picture a distinct character.
Other Features
The Panasonic GX8 Mirrorless Camera has built-in WiFi with NFC technology, which allows you to share images and videos to connected devices. You may fix an external flash on the camera by using its hot shoe. The flash can be synchronized at 1/250th of a second. An external microphone can be connected to the camera with the provided 2.5mm audio port. The camera is powered by a 1200 mAh Li-ion battery that allows up to 330 shots on a single charge.
