Overview

When it comes to effortlessly composing and shooting pictures, the Sigma dp0 Quattro Digital Camera with LVF-01 LCD Viewfinder Kit is the ideal tool for enthusiastic photographers. It features a 29 MP Foveon X3 Quattro Direct CMOS image sensor, which works in conjunction with the TRUE III image-processing engine for capturing color information vertically, instead of horizontally. This means that each pixel contains extremely accurate color information, which results in smooth gradations and rich tones. The included LVF-01 LCD viewfinder offers a 2.5× magnification for bringing distant subjects close to your line of sight. You may focus on subjects manually with the focusing ring or by activating the contrast-detect autofocus function.

Optics and Focus

The dp0 Quattro Digital Camera from Sigma comes with a 14mm f/4 lens, whose optical construction involves 11 elements in 8 groups. The lens also offers a minimum focus distance of 7.09 inches and a filter thread diameter of 58mm. The maximum shutter speed stands at 1/2,000th of a second, while the ISO sensitivity can be adjusted between 100 and 6,400. For a flexible shooting experience, the focus of this lens can be adjusted by activating the contrast-detect autofocus function or manually with the help of the focusing ring. The exposure, exposure-metering, and white-balance modes are useful for many shooting scenarios.

Sensor and Screen

The 29 MP Foveon X3 Quattro Direct CMOS image sensor featured in this unconventional digital camera aids in shooting high-quality pictures with accurate colors, smooth gradations, and rich tones. Use the 3-inch, TFT LCD screen, which offers a 920,000-dot resolution, for reviewing your captured photos and browsing menus with ease. Additionally, the LVF-01 LCD viewfinder, which provides a 2.5× magnification, lets you view scenes more conveniently, even in ambient lighting conditions.

Image and Video

The Sigma dp0 Quattro is capable of capturing JPEG and RAW stills at an impressive resolution of 7680×3296 pixels and 5424×3616 pixels, respectively. The TRUE III image-processing engine can render your photos at a brilliant speed and an equally brilliant quality.

Other Features

The numerous color modes in the dp0 Quattro give you the freedom to express your creativity on your photos. Use the inbuilt hot shoe for mounting an external flash, so you can take bright pictures of scenes, even in the dark. In case the camera’s internal memory runs out of space, you can expand it by inserting an SDXC, SDHC, or SD card. This camera runs on a long-lasting BP-51 rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack.

Elements / Groups:
The individual pieces of glass that form the overall optical construction. Most lenses have between four and eleven elements to bend the light rays to ensure a perfectly formed image appears on the light sensitive surface, such as a film or CCD. The elements are arranged in groups and may be seen in specification sheets as, for example, 6 elements in 4 groups. That configuration may have two single elements and the other four grouped in pairs.
