Very good for special use

The 55-71 range is a bit narrower than one wants, but it works well with a Nikon 105 f1.4 to get close focus. It's too long for most shorter lenses. I found it to seat well and have had no problems with physical stability or electrical contacts. It converts the amazing 105 portrait lens into a macro lens, though at the cost of some light. I gave it 5 stars because the limitations are about the optical physics, not this item's design or build quality.
Needs Better QC

I received the Savage Macro Art Extension tubes as a gift, I was a little surprised when I opened the box and there were no instructions. They were fairly easy to figure out so I tried them. The first thing I noticed was I couldn't extend the tubes to the full 75 mm. I then found out much to my shock and horror that I couldn't disengage the tube from my lens. I contacted Savage and their customer service was excellent, they told me how to disengage the lens, which I was able to do. They also sent FedEx to pick up the extension tube and send me a replacement.
I got the replacement and checked the engagement with the lens, it worked like a charm, and extended to the full 75mm. The problem came when I went to place it on one of my camera bodies. It seats well but will not engage with the camera.
The product is slick and well designed, but their quality control and manufacturing leave a lot to be desired. Despite the superior design of the product, I've decided to return it and go with the Nikon product.
