Nikon EN-EL18c Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery

This is the best battery Nikon has ever made and a worthy upgrade from the previous EN-EL18 batteries. It beats even the best batteries Canon makes for the 1Dx bodies! I’ve had and used every iteration of the EN-EL18 since 2013 when I bought a D4. I decided to replace a one of my original batteries that was on its way out. I decided to but this latest version even though it was slightly more money and I’m so glad I did. This battery is amazing and lasts forever, it’s simply better than the previous editions in every way. It’s so good and noticeably better that I’ve now decided to replace all three of my EN-EL18 batteries with this new version! I use one in my D500 with MB-D17 grip, one in my D4s and the third was for my D850 but is now a spare. The D850 was simply too high resolution for my work which is photojournalism, but it was a great camera! If you have a D500 or D850 definitely buy this EN-EL18c not the previous versions. Although all four editions do work in the D500/D850 this one works noticeably better. It helps boost the AF speed, acquisition and frame rate on the D850. I also noticed it helps make the D500 slightly faster to autofocus. You can literally hear the AF working faster with this battery in the grip over the EN-EL15 that comes with the D850/D500. This was pointed out to me years ago and 99% of people don’t know or don’t notice, but you will if you listen for it! The D850 definitely benefits the most from this battery, but no matter what camera you’re planning on using this in it’s worth the money. I think it must have to do with the voltage or increased power this has over the standard EN-EL15 batteries. Either way I notice and can tell the AF is slightly better with the EN-EL18 in the MB-D17/18 grips.
