Overview

For years, professional photographers have preferred KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Films because of their consistently smooth, natural reproduction of the full range of skin tones. In that same tradition, the new PORTRA 400 Film is the ideal choice for portrait and fashion photography, as well as for nature, travel and outdoor photography, where the action is fast or the lighting cant be controlled.

Note: Portra 400 Film replaces the existing Kodak Professional Portra 400NC and 400VC Films

I bought some boxes of this film before leaving for a recent trip. After scanning the pictures, I was simply blown away by their color quality. It is one of rare instances wherein I clicked a whole lot of pictures, but not a single picture required usage of Photoshop. I have decided to use the Kodak Portra 400 135-36 film only.

I am in love with this Kodak film! Its superb color saturation and classic detailing have forced me look into photography with an altogether greater zeal. I have shot for like 30 years, but since I started using this film, I have shot some of finest film stock ever. The Kodak film scans exceptionally well. I would give it complete marks.

I have already shot around 20 rolls of this camera film. So actually I delayed reading a review on it. My experience with Kodak Portra 400 has been marvelous as it is undoubtedly one of the best films I have ever come across. It’s accuracy in reproducing colors has amazed me every time I click a picture. This film is amazing for portraits. I thought of using this film with low-light lens and ended up getting awesome portraits.

Kodak Portra 400 135-36 is suitable for those individuals who intend to go different places and click pictures randomly. My first love is to click portraits, so I can blindly go for this awesome film. The grain detailing of this film is also something I like. If you are clicking an individual with this film, then you can end up counting his hair after the picture has been clicked such is its detailing.
