The GoPro Fusion is the next-gen storyteller camera that offers immersive VR experience, stunning visual quality, and professional gimbal like stabilization in a single package. Record the surrounding in an incredible 360° view with the Overcapture feature in 5.2K at 30 fps. For VR goggles, the camera offers 3K video quality with 60 fps frame rate. The unique feature of the Fusion is that you can extract a 1080p or 720p video from the 360° footage. You can also capture 18 MP still shots in RAW and JPEG format. This camera also records 360° audio in 4 channels to complement the Overcapture feature. The digital image stabilization reduces the camera shakes. You can control the camera with simple voice commands. This camera can be taken underwater up to 16 feet.
Optics and Focus
The GoPro Fusion features two cameras, both of them having 3mm focal length and aperture of f/2.8. Both cameras work at the same time when recording videos. You can stitch the 5.2K video in the GoPro app. With the ProTune function, the Fusion allows you to fine-tune the ISO and exposure compensation. The camera has a manual photo and video ISO range of 100–800 and 400–6400 respectively.
Sensor and Screen
The Fusion has two 9.3 MP CMOS sensors for each camera. A monochrome LCD located on the front side, which shows the recording format, time elapsed, battery status, and memory card.
Image and Video
Both cameras of the GoPro Fusion offer 5.2K videos at a frame rate of 30 fps. The two recorded videos can be stitched together in the GoPro app to create a 360° video. You can take out any portion of the video to produce a 1080p or 720p video. The GoPro Fusion can also capture 18 MP images in JPEG and RAW format to facilitate wireless sharing and picture editing. Thanks to the digital image stabilization, the Fusion produces video results like attached to a professional gimbal. You can shoot time-lapse videos by setting the interval from 0.5 to 60 seconds. The Fusion also has the burst photo mode that takes 30 pictures in one second.
Other Feature
The camera is Wi-Fi capable, thus allowing you to send images to a smartphone via GoPro app. You can also connect a smart remote for triggering the Fusion from a distance. The 360° audio recording supports the Overcapture function. With QuickCapture, the GoPro camera automatically begins recording without any delay so that you don't miss out any moment. The camera can work 16 feet below water. You can charge the camera's Li-ion battery pack via its USB port. The GoPro Fusion is compatible with most standard GoPro three-prong accessories. It also comes with flat and curved adhesive mounts.
