Students will be exposed to different photographic styles throughout history and current trends which students will use to develop their own concepts and create mood boards. We will cover pre-production and scheduling, sourcing locations and props, lighting theory, selecting and working with subjects, as well as communicating and working efficiently on set.

Seminar:
The first session is spent in the classroom looking at presentations of historical and contemporary photography, breaking down the elements that make a powerful photograph; the idea, mood, composition, technique, lighting, location, model, styling, retouching, etc., followed by exercises for brainstorming, concept development and preproduction. Students will then develop their own concepts.

Workshop: 
The second portion of the day is reserved to photographing conceptual scenarios from the mind of Claire Rosen.
