    Overview

The Nikon Z7 FX-Format Mirrorless Camera is the right companion for a professional project whether it is recording a video or conducting a photo shoot. This newest Nikon mirrorless camera is supplied with a 24–70mm f/4 S lens. The camera embodies a 45.7 MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor that works with the EXPEED 6 image processor to render high-resolution images and 4K videos. You can also capture burst images in RAW at a fast shooting speed of 9 fps. The N-Log gamma is ideal for professional video shooting as it offers flexibility in color grading by preserving both highlights and shadow details. A 5-axis optical VR machine is integrated into the camera, which ensures a 5-stop reduction in camera shakes with NIKKOR Z lenses. The 2.1m-dot tilting LCD gives a crystal-clear live view as well as supports high and low angle shooting. With the 3.6m-dot electronic viewfinder, you can compose the shot from the eye-level position without experiencing excessive blackouts. Transfer images to smartphones or remote control the camera using the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

    Optics and Focus

The Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera works with Z-mount lenses. Its Z-mount maintains an interruption-free communication between the camera and lens to speed up the autofocus and image processing. Additionally, its 17% larger diameter than standard full-frame cameras allows more light to enter inside for improving the picture quality. The included 24–70mm f/4 S lens employs a unique lens construction, having aspherical and Extra-low Dispersion elements to correct chromatic and spherical aberrations. These elements have a nanocrystal coating that reduces ghosting and flare. The stepping AF motor keeps the operating noise down when autofocusing on an object. You can set the programmable control ring to adjust the exposure settings. The 493-point phase-detection system covers 90% of the imaging area so that the subjects remain in focus even when they move to the edge of the frame. When you switch to the video mode, the camera changes the AF function to the Hybrid AF that uses both phase and contrast detection methods for the focusing work. The 5-axis sensor-shift VR system controls the unwanted camera shakes by 5 stops for Z-mount lenses and 3 stops for F-mount lenses.

    Sensor and Screen

The Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera houses a 45.7MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor that provides accurate color render along with improved low-light performance. Its back-illuminated design keeps the image noise in check up to an ISO limit of 25600. You can compose the scene using the 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD. Its 2.1m-dot resolution and tilting design let you view the recording media with ease. The 3.6m-dot electronic viewfinder also gives a high-resolution live view with a 0.80× magnification. A fluorine coat is given to the EVF to allow easy cleaning of fingerprints, dust, and moisture off it.

    Image and Video

Designed for professional video shooting, the Nikon Z7 records UHD 4K videos at 30 fps. For the 1080p recording, you can set the frame rate up to 120 fps for creating stunning slow-motion effects. The single shot photo capture mode gives a resolution of up to 8256×5504 pixels for both JPEG and RAW images. With the EXPEED 6 image processor, the camera performance is boosted to support the 9 fps burst RAW shooting. Apart from standard picture profiles, you may select the 10-bit N-log recording to obtain flexibility for altering the color tone using LUTs. The camera lets you record the log gamma footage to an external recorder using the HDMI port. Ensure the frame is exposed correctly by taking the aid of the zebra function. The camera has an interval timer that captures up to 9999 high-resolution stills for producing 8K time-lapses.

    Other Features

The Nikon Z7 comes with Wi-Fi connectivity for transferring images to smartphones, twice as faster than the previous models. You can choose the bandwidth for the Wi-Fi from 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The Bluetooth function is also incorporated for the similar purpose. You can control your camera remotely to adjust its exposure and take pictures with the SnapBrigde 2.5 support. This Nikon camera sports a magnesium alloy body with weather sealing to maintain its lightweight profile and protect the internal circuitry from dust and moisture. The new EN-EL15b battery is included in the box along with a charger.
