Canon 60D not saving photos to SD card

My Canon 60D will not record photos to the SD card. The card only shows one CTG file, which I can't open. I already formatted the card in the camera and tried shooting in both RAW and JPEG, but images still are not being saved. What should I check next?

The CTG file is an internal catalog file created by Canon.
It's very possible that the SD card is bad.
Try reformatting the card in windows, via a card reader. Make sure you don't enable the "Quick Format" option.
If that doesn't work, try a different SD Card.
If that doesn't work, contact Canon for service.

The CTG file is normal—it’s a Canon catalog file and not your photo.
If the camera still won’t save images after an in-camera format, the most likely cause is a bad or incompatible SD card. Try these steps:
- Put the card in a computer using a card reader.
- Do a full format in Windows (not a Quick Format).
- Put the card back in the camera and format it again in the 60D.
- Test shooting again.
If it still doesn’t work, try a different SD card. If another card works, the original card is likely faulty.
If the problem happens with multiple known-good cards, the issue may be with the camera’s card interface or another internal fault, and Canon service is the next step.
