Can Lightroom create a Smart Collection for photos with an empty Location field?

I want a Smart Collection that finds images where the Location metadata field is blank. In Lightroom 2, I tried a rule like Location | is | with the value left empty, but it returns no photos even though many images have no Location entered. Lightroom has an is empty option for Keywords, but I don’t see that for Location. Is there a way to do this in Lightroom 2?

Based on the reported behavior, Lightroom 2 does not appear to handle an empty Location field correctly in a Smart Collection using Location | is | with a blank value. A confirmed workaround from the discussion is that this works as expected in Lightroom 3, so the practical solution is to upgrade.
In short: this seems to be a limitation or bug in Lightroom 2 rather than a missing trick.
